The volatile oils of red sage soothe mucus membranes. It can be used internally, against inflammation and gum hemorrhage (gingivitis), tongue inflammation (glossitis) and general mouth inflammation (stomatitis). It is very effective in curing mouth ulcers (thrushes). In the form of gargles, it helps cure laryngitis, pharyngitis and tonsilitis of quinsy. Moreover, it is a valuable AFUSSO which can be used in cases of indigestion.
