Damiana

Turnera aphrodisiaca

Species:

Turneraceae

Other names:

Ever since ancient times, Damiana has had a reputation of being an aphrodisiac. This may or may not be true but what is certain is that it has a clear, tonic effect on the central Nervous System and the Endocrine System. The alkaloids it contains may have an effect similar to that of testosterone. As a useful antidepressant, Damiana is indicated for cases of anxiety and depression when there’s a sexual factor involved. It can also be used to strengthen the male reproductive system.
